Payment

West Loop Speech Therapy is a pediatric speech and language practice that serves the West Loop and surrounding neighborhoods of Chicago. We are a private-pay practice, meaning that we are intentionally out-of-network with insurance providers. This allows the Speech-Language Pathologist and families to have complete control and flexibility over the therapeutic services for their child - including number of sessions, therapy duration, and therapy approaches. Insurance companies drive most other speech and language clinics to make clinical decisions regarding services strictly on the insurance policy. This means that insurance companies dictate which services are covered, what services can be provided, and for how long. At West Loop Speech Therapy, we are able to offer our families individualized therapeutic services that are child focused and evidence-based, without someone else determining “medical necessity.”

Schedule

Services will be billed at the beginning of each month. Payment is due at the time of service OR can be paid in advance for the month. For example, if your child receives weekly therapeutic service, then the monthly bill (4 weeks) will show 4 sessions. Payments for the month should be made no later than the 5th of each month. Cash and check (made payable to West Loop Speech Therapy) accepted.

Insurance

West Loop Speech Therapy does not accept insurance at this time. We are considered out-of-network and are not affiliated with any insurance companies. Despite being a private-pay practice, we understand that this is a significant investment in your child’s development. At your request, we can offer a ‘superbill’, a monthly statement that includes necessary billing information (ICD-10 and CPT codes), which you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement (if your child’s diagnosis is covered by your insurance).  Simply upload the ‘superbill’ as part of an online/electronic claim via your insurance provider’s member portal.

Please note: West Loop Speech Therapy does not serve as a liaison between you and your insurance company, nor as an advocate for reimbursement of services. Please consult with your insurance company regarding your specific plan ahead of time to understand any deductibles, out-of-network reimbursement rates and copays, and timely filing deadlines.
